STRATOS Project: Combining levers to build protection strategies against Drosophila suzukii

The aim of this project is to secure production affected by D. suzukii by proposing protection solutions that are effective, sustainable, economically viable and acceptable to Sectors. The construction of the combinations is based on acquired knowledge of the levers tested and on the experience of the project partners, who have all already worked with one or more of these protection levers. The levers envisaged for the combinations to be tested are as follows: mass trapping, insect-proof netting (at greenhouse openings and on orchards), applications of physical barriers such as clay or lime, diffusion of repellent essential oils, introduction of parasitoids (the native parasitoid Trichopria drosophilae and/or the exotic parasitoid Ganaspis kimorum), release of sterile insects and the ...
