Albert Richard succeeds Bruno Dupont as Chairman of SIVAL

A SIVAL presidency between continuity and openness
After 20 years, SIVAL, the must-attend event for the Sectors specialized plant sector, is changing presidency. Albert Richard, arboriculturist and president of Vergers d'Anjou, succeeds Bruno Dupont, who has marked the show with his commitment toinnovation andinternational expansion. This transition symbolizes continuity in excellence, while bringing a new dynamic.
In an interview with Réussir Fruits & Légumes' Vincent Motin, he shares his first words as President of SIVAL. Interview and deciphering:

Bruno Dupont: two decades of influence for SIVAL
At the helm of SIVAL since 2005, Bruno Dupont has devoted 20 years to structuring and promoting the show in France and abroad. His efforts have focused on highlighting solutions that enable producers to adapt to the many challenges of sector, whether in terms of economic performance, technical innovation or agro-ecological transition.
Bruno Dupont also strengthened SIVAL's international ties, particularly on the African continent, convinced of France's strategic role in supporting agriculture worldwide. Under his leadership, the show has seen an increase in the number of foreign visitors and exhibitors, consolidating its status as a benchmark event. He will continue to promote SIVAL's international reputation by pursuing the development of structuring partnerships.


Albert Richard: solid experience for a benchmark salon
Albert Richard, arboriculturist since 1992, cultivates 30 hectares of apple trees and 3 hectares of cherry trees in Corzé, nearAngers. Alongside his farming activity, he holds strategic positions in several key organizations: director of FELCOOP, CTIFL,IDfEL, Pink Lady Europe,ANPP, and president of SICA Transfofruits and JOYA Europe. These responsibilities give him a transversal vision of the sector's challenges.
With his extensive experience, he sees SIVAL as a major lever for meeting the needs of Sectors. " It's a crossroads of innovations and techniques, where growers find concrete answers and the inspiration to evolve". His aim is to perpetuate the achievements of Bruno Dupont's presidency, while setting the show on a course of renewal.

Meeting the challenges of Sectors
The new president of SIVAL places three priorities at the heart of his presidency: producing, transmitting and anticipating. In the face of climate change and societal expectations, he stresses the urgent need to produce sustainably, while preserving essential resources such as water and biodiversity. In his view, the priority for Sectors is to continue innovating to meet these challenges.
He also attaches great importance to the transmission of knowledge and generational renewal. " It's essential to attract new talent and inspire the younger generation to join sector," he asserts. Finally, he hopes that SIVAL will continue to play its role as a strategic platform for all players, promoting exchanges between producers, exhibitors and experts.
A forward-looking presidency
His vision for SIVAL, backed by his experience and commitment, reflects a clear ambition for the future of Sectors . SIVAL must not only remain a showcase for technical excellence, but also a space for reflection and collective construction. It intends to broaden the range of players invited to the show, for example by including partners from the distribution sector, in order to strengthen connections along the entire value chain.
Relying on the expertise of the Destination Angers teams, Albert Richard aims to maintain the show's appeal while anticipating the future expectations of Sectors. "SIVAL is a unique venue, essential for accompanying the transitions in our sector and guaranteeing sustainable, high-performance production," he concludes.
