This exceptional half-day event, scheduled for Tuesday January 14, 2025 from 2 to 5:30 pm at the Rotonde Ardesia, is part of a national initiative to anticipate the withdrawal of certain key phytosanitary active substances, and to highlight concrete, sustainable solutions.

A three-part program of concrete solutions

1. Solutions Committee (2pm - 2:40pm)

The first sequence highlights the results of actions undertaken on the initiative of the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. The aim is to analyze the differences in plant protection product authorizations between France and other European Union member states, in order to identify action levers that can be rapidly mobilized.

  • Organization of the solutions committee by CTIFL
  • Assessment of fruit use (DGAL)
  • Overview of vegetable use (DGAL)
  • Implications for growers (FNPF, Légumes de France)

2. Plan Alternatives d'Urgence Phytosanitaire Fruits et Légumes (14h40 - 16h10)

Coordinated by CTIFL, this sequence presents 15 alternative solutions from 12 regional experimentation stations throughout France. This practical feedback illustrates the control of targeted pests on key crops such as apples, chestnuts, hazelnuts, cherries, garlic, cucurbits, carrots, cabbages, leeks, strawberries and onions.

Examples include:

  • Controlling apple scab (Cefel)
  • Chestnut canker control (Invénio)
  • Control of Drosophila suzukii on cherry trees (Sefra)
  • Onion weeding (Caté)
  • ... and many other solutions to reduce the impact of health threats on Sectors fruit and vegetables.

3. Strategic action plan (PARSADA) : Anticipating for better innovation (16h10 - 17h)

The final sequence looks at PARSADA, a strategic action plan designed to anticipate the withdrawal of active plant protection substances and encourage the development of new protection techniques.

  • Presentation of PARSADA (DGAL)
  • Action plans for fresh fruit and vegetables (CTIFL)
  • Focus on the SOLAD-FL project, dedicated to weed management in fruit and vegetable crops (CTIFL)

A meeting to better understand the available alternatives

CTIFL's Tour de France des Alternatives, part of the SIVAL 2025 program, will provide an opportunity to take stock of existing solutions, and to gain a better understanding of the issues involved in withdrawing key phytosanitary active substances. This event will bring together the various players in the sector plant sector, providing a platform for exchanges on alternative approaches, field experience and development prospects. We look forward to seeing you on January 14, 2025, at the Rotonde Ardesia during SIVAL 2025.
