Biocontrol at SIVAL
The Biocontrol & Plant Health Area: a dedicated space at the heart of the show
Already present at previous editions of SIVAL in conferences and on exhibitor stands, biocontrol has had a dedicated space since its 35th edition (2022): the Biocontrol & Plant Health Area. A program of inventions from technical and research institutes (GEVES, INRAé, ASTREDHOR, etc.) and member companies of theAlliance Biocontrôle and France Biocontrôle.
By offering direct access to biocontrol innovations and facilitating dialogue between the various players in the sector, the biocontrol & plant health area plays a crucial role in promoting more sustainable production methods.
The Biocontrol Forum - Plant health
Biocontrol at SIVAL also means the Biocontrol Forum. Every morning at SIVAL, technical institutes invite visitors to attend short presentations on biocontrol solutions, ideas and work in progress.
Biocontrol products are defined in the French Code Rural et de la Pêche Maritime (CRPM) as "agents and products using natural mechanisms as part of integrated pest management. They include in particular :
- Macro-organisms
- Plant protection products comprising micro-organisms, chemical mediators such as pheromones and kairomones and natural substances of plant, animal or mineral origin."
Company pitches on biocontrol
During the 3 days of SIVAL, companies will be presenting their biocontrol solutions in pitch sessions in the afternoons. These presentations take place in the Biocontrol Space in the Village.
